The Tashkent Regional Department of Internal Affairs has released official information about the large fire that occurred at the “Uch-Qahramon Specialized Trading Complex.”
It was reported that a criminal case has been initiated under paragraph “b” of part 2, article 259 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The investigation is being handled by the Investigation Department under the Tashkent Regional DIA.
According to official data, the total area occupied by the market’s trading stalls is 20,000 square meters. Thanks to timely and prompt measures, 12,000 square meters of trading space were saved from the fire. Most importantly, no one was injured or killed in the incident.
Calculations show that the blaze destroyed about 40 percent of the market’s area. This once again highlights the scale of the incident.
At present, investigative actions are being carried out to determine the cause of the fire. Officials stated that additional information will be provided upon completion of the investigation.
It should be noted that the incident occurred on August 11 at approximately 02:20, at the “Uch-Qahramon Specialized Trading Complex” LLC located in the “Sabzavot” neighborhood of Tashkent district. The fire lasted for almost three hours and required significant effort.
Ten fire-rescue crews were deployed to the scene. It took approximately 2.5 hours to completely extinguish the intense fire.
Today, the market’s entrepreneurs and local residents are eagerly awaiting the determination of the incident’s causes. The investigation’s conclusions are expected to reveal the true picture of what happened.
