On August 12, in Namangan region, in the Pap district, a fire broke out in the hilly part of the “Ibn-Sino” forestry area, located within the “Guliston” mahalla. The report about the incident reached the emergency services at 15:14.
According to the information, 20 employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and 2 units of special equipment, as well as 20 forestry specialists and 1 unit of equipment, were involved in extinguishing the fire. Thanks to coordinated and prompt actions, the fire was contained by 15:40 and fully extinguished by 16:05.
Preliminary estimates indicate that about 70 sotkas (0.7 hectares) of dry grass and branches were burned. Fortunately, no one was injured as a result of the incident.
Officials noted that such situations may frequently occur during hot and dry summer days. Therefore, residents and those working in the forestry area are urged to strictly follow fire safety rules and refrain from any activities that could cause a fire without special permission.
