In Tashkent, a car drove off the sidewalk for hype

In the city of Tashkent, young bloggers, aiming to gain hype, engaged in a very dangerous and controversial experiment. They refitted a Lacetti car with Mercedes-Benz parts and decided to “test” it by driving down a staircase intended for pedestrians. This incident took place in the central part of the city, in the Shaykhantakhur district, near a road interchange, local sources reported.

According to eyewitnesses, the bloggers deliberately chose a specific pedestrian staircase to fully “test” their car. They claimed that the sturdy and modern parts taken from Mercedes-Benz made the Lacetti capable of driving in any difficult road conditions. The young men recorded the entire process on video, posted it on social media, and within hours it sparked widespread discussion.

The footage circulating online was perceived by some users as “original content,” but most sharply criticized such behavior, considering it a gross violation of safety rules and a threat to pedestrians’ lives.

Law enforcement agencies immediately took action after the video spread, identifying the individuals involved in the incident. According to the Department of Internal Affairs, a decision was made to bring them to administrative responsibility.

During the investigation, the bloggers sincerely expressed regret for their actions and promised not to repeat such dangerous “experiments.” Law enforcement officials also emphasized that such incidents pose a serious threat not only to the lives and safety of the participants but also to the surrounding public.

This incident once again showed that in the pursuit of fame on social media, one must not forget the boundaries of law and safety. Chasing hype can be extremely costly—especially if it comes at the expense of public order and human life.
