In Fergana region, the head of a customs post was detained. This was reported by the “Xavfsizlik” channel. According to the information, the head of one of the border-customs posts in Fergana region, using his official position, demanded 5,000 US dollars and 1 “iPhone-16 Pro” telephone device in exchange for illegally letting 80 “iPhone-16” model mobile telephone devices, brought by a citizen from the Kyrgyz Republic, pass through the customs post without the relevant formalities.
During a rapid operation carried out by employees of the State Security Service, a lieutenant colonel of the customs authorities was apprehended (detained) with physical evidence at the moment of receiving these material valuables. That is, the “dealings” related to the money and the “iPhone-16 Pro” were officially recorded at that very time.
At present, a criminal case has been initiated against the said official under Article 210 of the Criminal Code (taking a bribe), and a preventive measure in the form of arrest has been applied. In accordance with the legislation, the evidence is studied in a comprehensive manner; until guilt is proven, the person is considered innocent (presumption of innocence).
