On August 27, the new Ambassador of France to Uzbekistan, Walid Fouque, officially assumed his duties. This was reported by the Embassy's press service.
Speaking in Uzbek, the Ambassador expressed his satisfaction with starting work in our country, famous for its millennial historical heritage, culture, and hospitality.
- I will make every effort to cooperate with you and further strengthen the historical closeness between the two countries. "In the coming months, I intend to visit all regions and further strengthen the bonds of friendship that connect France and Uzbekistan," said Valid Fouque.
In his address, he also drew attention to the areas of cooperation between the two countries. In particular, he called for the implementation of various projects with France, the use of opportunities in the field of travel and education, as well as the further development of cultural ties through French institutions in Uzbekistan, in particular, through French alliances in Tashkent and Samarkand.
For information, Valid Fouque studied at the Paris Institute of Political Studies. From 2010 to 2014, he worked in the Department of Strategic Affairs, Security and Disarmament at the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Later, he worked as a political advisor at the embassy in Beijing and as a political advisor at the Permanent Mission of France to the UN.
From 2020 to 2025, he served as Advisor to the President of France on Asian, Oceanian, and American Affairs.
As a reminder, Walid Fuch replaced Aurelia Bouchez, who had served as ambassador since 2021.
