А 28-year-old man who grossly violated traffic rules in Samarkand was sentenced to imprisonment by court order.
According to the report, on April 11th of this year, around 8:00 PM, the driver, born in 1997, was driving his Lacetti on Rudakiy Street, which passes through the "Nurli Yo'l" neighborhood of Samarkand, when he hit several people crossing the road at the pedestrian crossing.
As a result, many pedestrians received various injuries and were taken to the hospital. Despite all the efforts of the doctors, one of the victims died.
During an open hearing in the Samarkand City Criminal Court, the driver's actions were assessed under Article 266, Part 2 of the Criminal Code (violation of traffic safety rules). The court sentenced him to 7 years of imprisonment and deprived him of the right to drive for an additional 3 years.
