The organization that pollutes the Bozsuv Canal will pay a fine of 1.5 billion

Following the dissemination of information about the discharge of sewage water into the Bozsuv Canal in the Tashkent region, a large-scale investigation was conducted. Currently, the preliminary results of this process have been announced to the public.

According to the data, in water samples taken at the first and third discharge points of the "Bozsuv aeration facility," a number of indicators were found to be tens of times higher than the established norms. In particular, a sharp increase in the content of suspended solids, ammonium ions, nitrite nitrogen, sulfates and phosphates, indicators of biological decomposition, petroleum products, as well as copper and iron was noted.

According to ecologists and specialists, this situation has had a serious negative impact on nature and water resources. As a result of the calculation of the damage caused to the environment, it was decided to pay compensation in the amount of 1 billion 511 million 966 thousand 450 soums.

In this regard, the Prosecutor General's Office initiated a criminal case against the joint-stock company "Toshkent suv ta'minoti" under Articles 205 and 207 of the Criminal Code. The Tashkent City Prosecutor's Office is currently conducting an investigation.

Experts emphasize that strict measures against environmental violations are important not only for environmental protection but also for preventing the recurrence of such cases in the future.
