According to the Supreme Court’s press service, in connection with the case of violence and defamation covered by «Kun.uz» and widely discussed by the public, a trial has been initiated against the former head of the Furqat district Department of Internal Affairs (DIA) of Fergana region and his first deputy. The criminal case is being heard at the Kuva District Criminal Court.
As reported by the online outlet with reference to the victim, two DIA heads and a number of operative officers allegedly organized defamation against the head of the district tax inspectorate and a female citizen, and used physical force against them. The official statement notes that, based on the investigative body’s conclusion, the defendants are identified as A.Kh. (39) — former head of the district DIA, and J.R. (34) — former first deputy.
The indictment has been brought under the following articles:

Criminal Code Art. 141¹ Part 2 (a), (b) — violation of privacy;

Criminal Code Art. 141³ Part 2 (b) — disclosure of information that demeans honor and dignity and pertains to private life;

Criminal Code Art. 142 — violation of the inviolability of dwelling;

Criminal Code Art. 206 Part 1 — abuse of authority or official powers;

Criminal Code Art. 230² Part 1 — falsification of operational-search activity results;

Criminal Code Art. 234 Part 1 — unlawful detention or arrest.
The Senate Committee on Defense and Security of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan stated that it has placed the situation under parliamentary oversight, and supervision has been established over the adoption of a lawful decision by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and relevant law-enforcement bodies.
We remind that the fact a case is being considered in court does not imply guilt. The court will examine the evidence of both parties and issue a final verdict within the law.
