A lawyer of a law firm operating in Tashkent was detained. In a criminal case initiated by the Investigative Department of the Yashnabad District Department of Internal Affairs under Articles 168 and 211 of the Criminal Code against a citizen living in the Pskent district of the Tashkent region, he stated that he had changed the chosen preventive measure against him and, having resolved the case positively through his acquaintances working in the judiciary, he was caught red-handed by officers of the State Security Service and the Department under the Prosecutor General's Office.
Currently, a criminal case has been initiated against the lawyer under Article 168, Part 3, Clause "a" and Article 28, Part 1 of the Criminal Code, and investigative actions are underway.
An illegal case involving lawyers was also recorded in the Surkhandarya region. In particular, during a joint operation conducted by the State Security Service and the regional prosecutor's office, a lawyer of a law firm operating in the Denau district was caught red-handed while illegally receiving 60 million soums from a citizen.
It was established that the lawyer, through his acquaintances in the judicial system, promised to assist in the imposition of a lenient sentence on the accused in the criminal case under consideration in the Denau District Criminal Court.
Currently, a criminal case has been initiated against him under Article 168, Part 3, Clause "v" and Article 28, Part 1 of the Criminal Code, and a preventive measure of "detention" has been applied. Investigative actions are underway.
