Scandal in Kökdala: School principal fired after “immoral audio” leak

A scandal involving a school principal has drawn public attention in Kashkadarya region. An audio recording allegedly belonging to Azamat Ruzanov, the principal of School No.17 in Kökdala district, spread on social media. In the recording, a man introducing himself as the principal makes an inappropriate proposal to a female interlocutor.

When the woman says, “Even if you took me for drawing lessons, it would be fine,” the man replies, “To be honest, I want to be with you. Do you understand me?” The conversation sparked outrage among the public.

The Kashkadarya Regional Department of Preschool and School Education issued an official statement, saying the situation had been investigated and the principal’s actions were deemed to disgrace the teaching profession.

“By order of the department head dated October 16, 2025, Azamat Ruzanov has been dismissed from his position as school principal. Strict measures will be taken against any violations of ethical norms within the education system,” the statement reads.

It was also confirmed that Ruzanov serves as a deputy of the Kökdala District Council of People’s Deputies, elected from the Naimansaroy neighborhood. According to the council secretariat, his behavior will be reviewed by the commission on regulations and parliamentary ethics.

Experts note that such incidents negatively affect the reputation of the education system and require a high level of responsibility from individuals in leadership positions.

Thus, the Kökdala incident once again reminded the public of the importance of leadership ethics, personal responsibility, and the integrity of public servants.
