Spread of narcotics imported from Afghanistan stopped

An operation was carried out by officers of the State Security Service. During the event, a Cobalt vehicle driven by a resident of Andijan city, traveling along the “Tashkent-Andijan” route, was stopped and inspected at the “Chinor” traffic patrol post located in Ohangaron district of Tashkent region.

As a result, 4 kg 897 g of “hashish” were found on his companion, a citizen of Kyrgyzstan residing in Osh city, and the substance was confiscated in accordance with legal procedures.

It was also revealed that the Kyrgyz citizen had obtained this deadly substance from a hidden place in a field in Bukhara district. When the area was inspected, an additional 45 kg 52 g of “hashish” were found there.

Currently, a criminal case has been opened by the Investigative Department of the State Security Service for Bukhara region under Articles 246 and 273 of the Criminal Code, and the suspects have been taken into custody.

Preliminary investigation determined that the approximately 50 kg of narcotics had previously been smuggled into Bukhara region from Afghanistan and were intended to be transported through Uzbekistan as a transit route.
