In Surkhandarya, a dismissed director tried to set himself on fire at a school

An unfortunate incident occurred at secondary school No. 39, located in the Kumkurgan district of Surkhandarya region. A video circulating on social media shows the former head of the school pouring fuel into his body and trying to set himself on fire. This situation caused great controversy in the public.

It was reported that Z.A., who had been heading this school since 2010, was dismissed from his position on September 16 of this year. This decision was made on the basis of the order of the Department of Preschool and School Education of Surkhandarya region, in accordance with Article 157 of the Labor Code.

However, the former director did not agree to the dismissal. On October 13, when the new director E.A. was officially starting his work, Z.A. resisted and caused a commotion at the school. According to the department, no one was injured during the incident, the situation was quickly stabilized.

The department's official statement emphasized that the school is currently conducting a consistent lesson, and there are no interruptions in the activities of students and teachers.

Recall that in recent months, the number of conflicts between officials in educational institutions has increased. In particular, it was reported that there was a dispute between a teacher and the deputy director of a music and art school in the Khavast district of the Syrdarya region, as well as a quarrel between the head of the preschool education department and the director of a kindergarten in the Akhangaran district.

These events show that the issue of the human factor and the culture of relations between managers in the education system should once again come to the forefront.
