On November 21, the National Committee for Ecology and Climate Change issued a statement addressing construction companies. The committee once again reminded that there are a number of requirements that must be observed at construction sites, and it is clear that any organization that violates these rules will be held administratively liable.
According to current regulations, all construction organizations must comply with the following mandatory requirements:
- preventing the release of dust, sand, and fine particles into the air during construction;
- installation of suspended sprinklers and water sprayers in the entrance and exit corridors;
- organization of mandatory washing points for washing the wheels of each motor vehicle;
- equipping the site with protective barriers, special coverings, and technical means to limit the spread of dust.
The Committee's warning states:
"If the requirements are not met, severe fines, suspension of activities for up to 10 working days, or liquidation measures may be applied in accordance with the Code of Administrative Responsibility."
In recent weeks, air quality has become a serious topic of discussion throughout the country. For several days, the city of Tashkent ranked among the cities with the highest air pollution in the world.
On November 11, harmful dust particles sharply exceeded the norm in the capital and Andijan. On November 16, the level of fine particles in the atmosphere also increased several times. It was noted that on November 20, Tashkent ranked 2nd in the international air pollution rating.
Experts attribute this phenomenon to the inversion process caused by frequent temperature fluctuations. In such conditions, harmful particles accumulate in the near-ground air layer and their spread becomes difficult.
A number of measures are being taken to improve air quality. In particular, at the Tashkent Thermal Power Plant in the Yakkasaray district, steps are being taken to completely abandon fuel oil and prevent environmental risks.
Following new requirements and sharp warnings, further strengthening of environmental control in the construction sector is expected.
