In Tashkent, the arrest of blogger Sanjar Karimov, known on social networks as Real Sanjik, caused a lot of discussion among the public. According to the press service of the Supreme Court, the Mirabad District Criminal Court approved a preventive measure in the form of detention against Karimov on November 28.
According to reports, several serious charges have been filed against the blogger: threats of murder or violence, attempts to illegally manufacture, store, transport, and circulate narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances. Investigative bodies stated that these actions could be in accordance with several articles of the Criminal Code.
According to the court's statement, the prosecutor's request was fully satisfied, and Sanjar Karimov was placed in a pre-trial detention center. He was born in 1990 in the Namangan region and is one of the founders of the "Finans Invest" business entity.
The Runaway Groom Case and the Role of Karimov
The controversy surrounding the blogger mainly escalated after a complaint from Jamila Olimboyeva, a resident of Tashkent. Olimboyeva accused her assistant, Shahzod Rismatov, of fraud, claiming that his house had been fraudulently transferred to Sanjar Karimov's name and that Rismatov had borrowed money in return.
After these claims appeared, Sanjar Karimov openly expressed his position and stated that he bought the house for $240,000 in cash. According to him, this agreement has nothing to do with Rismatov and their personal business problems.
"I bought the house with my own money. If their business failed, it doesn't concern me. I bought the house to help them," Karimov said.
Court verdict in the Rysmatov case
On November 21, the Mirzo-Ulugbek District Criminal Court concluded the open trial of Shahzod Rismatov in the first instance and found him guilty of committing fraud on an especially large scale. The court sentenced Rismatov to 9 years in prison.
At the same time, the judge issued a separate ruling and sent a notification to the prosecutor's office to conduct an additional investigation into the participation of Sanjar Karimov in this criminal case and the legality of his actions.
