Electronic Prescription Is Not a Restriction but Your Health Policy

Many view electronic prescriptions as an obstacle to obtaining medication. However, in reality, prescriptions are the most essential tool for safeguarding patients.

How does it protect you?

• From incorrect dosage: Medications with high dosages or long-term treatments should only be used under a doctor’s supervision. This is your protection against complications.
• From excessive medication (polypharmacy): The electronic system reduces the risk of doctors prescribing unnecessary multiple medications simultaneously. Excess medication is not treatment; it is often harmful.
• From global risks: Uncontrolled use of antibiotics poses a major health threat by increasing the number of resistant bacteria. The electronic prescription system is specifically designed to mitigate these risks.

The system is currently being tested in pilot mode. As part of a responsible approach, during this trial phase, the identified technical and organizational challenges are aimed at fully detecting and addressing shortcomings. This is the only way to safely implement the system nationwide in the future.

The introduction of the electronic prescription system is clear evidence that Uzbekistan’s healthcare sector is entering a new era of modernization, safety, and alignment with international standards.
