An attempt to illegally put potent medicines into circulation was prevented. As part of the large-scale оперативно-preventive campaign “Safe and Healthy Country,” the Yashnobod district department of the Prosecutor General’s Office Department, together with other law enforcement agencies, carried out another round of inspections.
During the operation, a search was conducted at an address said to belong to the suspect citizen Z.R. — a household in the “O‘qchi Olmazor” mahalla area. As a result, it was found that “Pregabalin” containing 139 units of medicine had been stored for the purpose of sale.
It is reported that these medicines, in connection with the incident, were officially seized as physical evidence in accordance with procedure. Law enforcement agencies consider the situation serious from the standpoint of public safety and public health.
A criminal case has been initiated under Article 251-1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The article is noted to cover actions such as producing, distributing, advertising, or displaying products that promote potent substances that are not classified as narcotic drugs, their analogues, or psychotropic substances, as well as unlawfully putting such substances and toxic substances into circulation.
Relevant investigative actions are currently underway within the case.
