As a result of a large-scale operational action carried out by law enforcement agencies in our capital, the trade of toxic substances posing a serious threat to human health has been put to an end. Through the joint efforts of officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Tashkent City Internal Affairs Department and the State Security Service, large drug laboratories were uncovered and an organized criminal group was apprehended. Zamin.uz reveals the details of this horrifying criminal plan.
Youth "business": A group with distributed roles
The detained members of the criminal group organized their activities like a large enterprise. The core of the group consisted of youth born in 2000–2004, with a strict hierarchy among them:
"Warehouse manager": Controlled the storage and delivery of products;
"Laboratory assistants": Engaged in the preparation of chemicals;
"Packer": Prepared the finished product for sale.
To sell their toxic products, they opened a special drug store on social networks and used the services of "stashers" (secret distributors). Most regrettably, they chose the vicinity of educational institutions and young people as their main target.
Rented "death laboratories"
The criminal group rented two apartments in the Tashkent region and the city of Almalyk, turning them into special laboratories. During the search of these premises, the following were found:
15 kg of "Pregabalin" and 1 kg of "Tropicamide" powders;
Hundreds of ready-made capsules and precursors;
Equipment and technical means necessary for packaging.
During the operational event, three persons performing the function of "distributors" were also detained, from whom 1,050 units of strong-acting substances were seized as material evidence.
Inevitability of punishment and investigation
A criminal case was initiated on this incident under Article 251-prime.1 of the Criminal Code. A measure of restraint in the form of detention has been applied to all members of the criminal group. Investigative actions are currently ongoing.
Thanks to the vigilance of law enforcement agencies, the spread among the population of toxic substances equivalent to more than 360 thousand single doses was prevented. This means that the lives of thousands of people and the future of young people have been saved.
