A Special Commission led by the Adviser to the President of Uzbekistan on environmental issues continues environmental raids at industrial enterprises to reduce air pollution. The next raids were held on January 13 in the industrial zones of Tashkent’s Yangihayot and Sergeli districts.
In Sergeli district, the operations of the V. L. Galparin Tashkent Pipe Plant were inspected. The enterprise produces welded pipes and is classified as a facility with a high level of environmental impact.
The activities of JSC “Uzvtorcvetmet” in the southern industrial zone of Yangihayot district were also reviewed. This site is considered a high environmental-risk enterprise. It was reported that an inspection was conducted here in October 2025, after which a mandatory order was issued based on the results.
In line with the decision of the Special Commission and an order issued by the National Committee for Ecology and Climate Change, the plant is being relocated to another area and is ceasing production activities in Yangihayot district. It is also stipulated that outdated and environmentally harmful smelting furnaces will be disposed of, while the enterprise will continue operations at another site using more technologically advanced equipment.
As a result of the measures taken, it is said that the release of about 226.7 tons of pollutants into the atmosphere will be prevented. This is expected to significantly improve air quality in Tashkent’s Yangihayot district.
In addition, the Tashkent branch of the “Ikkilamchi qora metallar” company was inspected in the southern industrial zone. The enterprise sorts and compresses scrap metal and is classified as an object with a moderate level of environmental impact.
Following the inspections, the enterprises were given strict instructions to comply with environmental standards. It was reported that environmental monitoring in Tashkent’s industrial zones will continue, and the устранение of identified violations has been placed under separate oversight.
