A group of human traffickers with Uzbek citizens were identified in Malaysia

The Department of Operational and Investigative Events of the Ministry of Internal Affairs suspended the activities of an organized criminal group engaged in human trafficking in the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur, "Gazeta" reports, citing the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

According to the investigation, the group was led by a 55-year-old woman born in Tajikistan in 1971. Through her partners residing in Uzbekistan, she posted advertisements in Telegram channels about hiring new staff for restaurants in Kuala Lumpur and organized the transfer of citizens abroad.

The group’s members in Tashkent met with job seekers and sent them to Kuala Lumpur under false promises. According to the investigation, the female leader sexually exploited the girls, while young men were not provided with the promised $500 monthly salary, free housing, or food.

In addition, labor visas were not issued, wages were not paid, their passports were confiscated, and they were subjected to forced labor.

So far, eight victims of this criminal group have been identified. A criminal case has been initiated under Article 135, Part 2 (human trafficking) of the Criminal Code, and the investigation is ongoing.
