In the city of Karshi, law enforcement officers detained a wanted young man while he was moving disguised as a woman. This was reported on March 14 by the Main Department of Internal Affairs of Kashkadarya region.
It was reported that preventive measures were being conducted in the region to ensure public safety and health. During the operation, public order officers detained 25-year-old R.J., who was wanted under Articles 228 and 168 of the Criminal Code.
The young man lived in Karshi and, to stay out of the sight of law enforcement, had altered his appearance unusually. He wore women’s clothing and tried not to reveal himself even to acquaintances.
“However, due to the vigilance of experienced patrol-post officers, this case raised suspicion. During the investigation, his identity was established, and it was confirmed that he was wanted. He is currently detained and placed in a temporary detention facility,” the report states.
Article 228 of the Criminal Code provides penalties for the production, forgery, sale, or use of documents, seals, stamps, and forms. According to the article, a fine of 50–100 MRP, or up to 360 hours of compulsory community service, or up to three years of correctional work may be applied.
Article 168 criminalizes fraud. Under this article, a fine of 50–100 MRP, up to two years of correctional work, restriction of liberty for one to three years, or imprisonment for up to three years may be imposed.
