In Muzrabot district of Surkhandarya region, during a dispute over debt, one of the citizens attacked a police officer and beat him. This was reported by the regional Internal Affairs Department.
It is reported that on February 2, a group of men came to a citizen’s house regarding a debt, caused a fight, and disrupted public order. When the preventive inspectors arrived to calm the situation and escort the participants to the police, one of them, born in 1972, resisted and struck Captain R. Choriyev in the head.
To avoid responsibility, he pretended to faint. During a hospital check, his underage son also attacked another inspector but was quickly neutralized.
Currently, a criminal case has been initiated under Article 219, Part 2 of the Criminal Code, and the main suspect has been taken into custody. His underage son was released under a written pledge.
It is recalled that on March 9, in Uzbekistan district of Fergana region, a water supply officer was also beaten while on duty. The injured officer received prompt medical care, and the case was investigated by the district police department.
