Last World War II veteran passes away in Surkhandarya

Shohimardon Hamroyev, a World War II veteran who lived in the Temirdarvoza neighborhood of the Boysun district in the Surkhandarya region, has passed away at the age of 105.

Shohimardon ota participated in battles across the territories of Voronezh, Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia during World War II. He fought directly on the front lines for the defense of the Motherland, overcoming severe hardships with great resilience.

Contemporaries and loved ones remember him as a man who served his country with loyalty and made duty and responsibility the essence of his life.

After the war, Shohimardon Hamroyev dedicated his entire life to education. Having studied pedagogy, he worked as a Russian language teacher for nearly 40 years. Thanks to his hard work and dedication, hundreds of young people received knowledge and upbringing.

For his many years of fruitful work, Shohimardon Hamroyev was awarded the 'Excellence in Public Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan' badge.

Notably, Shohimardon ota was the last surviving World War II veteran in the Surkhandarya region. His passing is a great loss not only for the region but for the entire country.
