In Tashkent, the driver who was driving under the influence of alcohol and raised his hand against a traffic police officer later expressed regret and asked for forgiveness from everyone. It was reported that a criminal case was initiated against him, and he was arrested.
The driver on April 3 expressed strong regret for his actions, and it was confirmed that his raising his hand and breaking the law was evident. He had consumed alcohol, insulted the traffic police officer, and refused to comply with their demands. The traffic police tried to calm him down, but after unsuccessful attempts, they neutralized him using a taser.
"I got into an argument because I drank alcohol, then the post-patrol service officers arrived, and I got into another argument with them. Later, in a state of intoxication, I raised my hand. I am deeply sorry, and I ask for forgiveness from everyone," said the driver. He mentioned that his actions and the situation had harmed his brother's reputation, who had worked for many years.
The video also showed the driver striking the traffic police officer with his elbow, and it was revealed that his brother works at the Sirdarya Regional Department of Internal Affairs and has been dismissed.
A criminal case has been initiated against the driver who punched the traffic police officer, and he has been arrested. The court investigation is ongoing, and it was confirmed that he is being charged under Articles 219 and 277 of the Criminal Code.
The need to improve the system to protect citizens' rights and to increase accountability in the fight against crime and the creation of new laws aimed at protecting citizens' rights was reiterated.
