Strict Measures for Those Who Harm Nature: Details
According to the "Legal Information" channel, pursuant to additions and amendments made to a number of legal acts, large financial sanctions are being introduced in the fields of ecology and environmental protection. Under the new procedure, the amount of fines is determined depending on the type of violation:
• For violating the procedure for cleaning river beds: legal entities are fined 3 times the damage caused to the environment.
• For failure to protect trees: legal entities that have not taken measures to preserve green spaces on their territory are subject to a financial penalty of 5 times the damage caused.
• For other environmental violations: legal entities are fined in the amount of 10 times the compensation payment.
When Does It Come Into Force?
This law comes into full force 3 months after the date of its official publication. This gives entrepreneurs and organisations sufficient time to fully comply with environmental standards in their activities.
