Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan sign plan for joint projects

During a working visit to Astana, an important document was signed to further expand cooperation between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan in investment and trade. The signing ceremony for the practical action plan to implement agreements reached in the presence of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev took place.

This "roadmap" aims to elevate economic ties between the two countries to a new level. The document outlines the implementation of joint projects in key sectors such as automotive, energy, chemical industry, metallurgy, pharmaceuticals, logistics, construction materials, housing construction, and agriculture.

These agreements demonstrate that Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan are striving to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation beyond trade, extending it to industry, manufacturing, infrastructure, and investment. In particular, joint initiatives in logistics and energy could play a crucial role in strengthening regional connectivity.

The document is aimed at bringing the agreements reached during the meetings of the two heads of state in Bukhara and Turkistan in April and May of this year to a practical stage. In other words, this plan aims to turn previous negotiations into concrete projects and actionable tasks rather than leaving them on paper.

In short, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan are further intensifying cooperation in investment and trade. The signed practical action plan is expected to open new opportunities for the economies of both countries and increase the number of joint ventures and major projects. In the region, neighborliness is becoming not just diplomacy, but a major economic driver.
