Ranieri: “Shomurodov Deserves a Starting Spot”

AS Roma’s head coach Claudio Ranieri has commented on Eldor Shomurodov being included in the starting lineup due to the injury of Artem Dovbyk, reports RomaPress.

“I have never had doubts about selecting my players. Whether it’s Eldor or Artem, both of them want to contribute to the team. Making decisions is always difficult. Even if I make a mistake in choosing the lineup, it’s not a big issue because all our players are fully committed to the game,” said Ranieri.

Despite rumors about his departure in January, the Uzbek forward has been getting more playing time and proving his worth. In recent matches, he has started in the lineup and scored crucial goals. In the 26th round of the Italian Serie A, against Monza, Shomurodov provided an assist for Roma’s first goal and scored the second himself.
