CSKA veteran criticizes Fayzullaev and suggests replacing him with youth
Former CSKA and USSR national team defender Vladimir Ponomaryov criticized the current form of CSKA midfielder Abbosbek Fayzullaev in an interview with football24.ru, reports kursiv.media.

According to Ponomaryov, the Uzbek player has shown a noticeable dip in performance and might be physically exhausted from playing too many matches for both club and country.

“He has weak stats. Dribbling is there, but he needs to work harder. Maybe he’s tired — they overplayed him. He can pass, he sees the field, but he shouldn’t be overused. He needs to improve physically,” said Ponomaryov.

He also suggested that CSKA could consider selling Fayzullaev: “It wouldn't be a huge loss. We have our own young talents — Kislyak, Glebov. They can replace him.”

Ponomaryov played 120 matches for CSKA, scoring once, and earned 25 caps for the USSR. He retired at age 29 due to injury.

Since joining CSKA in August 2023, Fayzullaev has made 42 appearances, scored 6 goals, and provided 10 assists.
