Manchester City midfielder and Portuguese international Bernardo Silva may leave the club at the end of the season, reports Portuguese outlet “A Bola”.
Benfica calling again
The 30-year-old is reportedly keen on returning home. Lisbon-based Benfica is interested in bringing him back. Silva is a product of the Benfica academy, and sources claim he feels “in debt” to the club where he started.
He is even willing to lower his salary to make the move happen.
City planning a summer rebuild
Manchester City is said to be planning a squad refresh this summer, which means they are open to parting ways with Silva.
His current market value stands at €45 million, and his contract runs until mid-2026.
Since joining from Monaco in 2017, Silva has won everything with City, including multiple Premier League titles and the Champions League. A return to Benfica could mark a full-circle moment in his career.
