President Shavkat Mirziyoyev sent a congratulatory message to the Uzbekistan team, winners of the Asian Cup among U-17 football teams held in Saudi Arabia. Below is the full text of the congratulatory message.

My dear children!

From the bottom of my heart, I sincerely congratulate you, on behalf of our people and personally myself, on your brilliant performance at the prestigious tournament held in Saudi Arabia among footballers under seventeen, and on winning the high award – the Asian Cup.

The fact that you – our talented, determined youth – achieved a record result without suffering a single defeat throughout the tournament, courageously defending the honor of our beloved Motherland, undoubtedly represents a glorious event that will be written in golden letters in the history of our national football.

In particular, the true courage and resilience you showed in the final against a strong host team – Saudi Arabia, when you bravely fought nine against eleven players despite various pressures, deserves the highest praise. Your bravery and skill deserve sincere admiration.

It should be specially noted that by the end of the tournament, three of our talented athletes were awarded individual prizes: Ne’matulloh Rustamjonov as the best goalkeeper of the tournament, Asilbek Aliyev as the top scorer, and Sadriddin Hasanov as the best player.

Our people, in your example, see bright representatives of the youth of New Uzbekistan who are capable of always striving forward and achieving high goals, and are rightfully proud of you.

I sincerely express heartfelt gratitude to you, your parents, and your coaches for this historic victory, which is another practical result of the great attention paid to sports, particularly to the development of football in our country.

I believe that inspired by this victory, you will also perform worthily at the World Championship in Qatar in November this year as the Asian champions.
