Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated Javokhir Sindarov on his historic victory

The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, held a telephone conversation with Javokhir Sindarov, the winner of the Candidates Tournament of the International Chess Federation. This was reported by the Presidential Press Service.
The Head of State sincerely congratulated the young grandmaster on becoming, for the first time in the history of Uzbek chess, the winner of such a prestigious competition and achieving a truly historic result.
During the conversation, it was noted that Javokhir Sindarov achieved a result in the tournament that no one had reached before, winning 6 games out of 13. This was assessed as a very rare and unique achievement in the world of chess.
The President particularly emphasized that the young athlete demonstrated great skill, courage, and determination in every game against the strongest chess masters in the world. He also noted that an even more responsible stage awaits him ahead — the fight for the world chess crown — and wished him further success, strength, and new victories.
It was also noted that Javokhir Sindarov’s participation in the 46th World Chess Olympiad, which will be held in Samarkand in 2026, will undoubtedly give the team great spirit and confidence.
Taking the opportunity, the Head of State also sincerely congratulated the parents, mentors, and close ones of the chess player on this historic achievement.
In turn, Javokhir Sindarov expressed deep gratitude to the President for the high attention and trust shown.
