Persepolis player and one of the key players of the Uzbek national team, Oston Urunov, may leave the club in the near future, the Perspolisnews publication reported.
According to the source, the Tehran club is currently seriously working on signing a contract with Iranian national team midfielder Ali Golizoda.
If this transfer takes place, a serious rotation may occur in the Persepolis team. The reason is that Ali Golizoda plays in a position that is typical for Urunov. This increases the likelihood of relegating the Uzbek legionnaire to the reserve.
Therefore, the club management has announced its readiness to consider incoming offers for Oston Urunov. According to reports, Persepolis has begun negotiations with teams that want to sign the Uzbek player in the winter transfer window.
Earlier, a number of media outlets reported that Turkish Super League club Besiktas was interested in Oston Urunov. If this option were to materialize, it could be seen as a way for Urunov to join European clubs.
For information, in the 2023/24 season, Oston Urunov played 23 games for Persepolis, scoring 3 goals and assisting 1. His current contract with the club runs until the summer of 2027.
According to the Transfermarkt portal, the player's market value is 2.5 million euros.
In short, the situation in Persepolis may change soon. If Ali Golizoda comes, Urunov will have to leave. Now it all depends on the choice of the head coach.
