Uzbekistan national team head coach Timur Kapadze shared detailed comments about the team's upcoming training camp. According to him, the most suitable option chosen was the "Jebel Ali" sports base in the UAE.
"Initially, we considered several options — Qatar, the UAE, and even Oman. But we chose a location that allows faster adaptation to the climate and conditions. We traveled to the Emirates to study the situation in detail. The head of the national teams department and a safety expert accompanied us. All necessary data was studied on site," said Kapadze.
He noted that there were two favorable locations in the UAE: one in Abu Dhabi, the other closer to Dubai — "Jebel Ali."
"In the end, we decided on 'Jebel Ali.' The base is located in a desert area, which ensures safety. There are no tall buildings nearby, so no one can observe the training sessions. That's a big advantage for us," the coach explained.
He also mentioned that the Abu Dhabi bases are surrounded by tall buildings, which makes holding closed sessions difficult.
"Our hotel is just 5 minutes from the base. Its infrastructure is excellent, and it's about 40 minutes from the city center. This helps us stay fully focused on training," said Kapadze.
As for Oman, he explained: "We aren't well acquainted with the local conditions there. That's why we chose the more reliable option — the UAE."
Kapadze also noted that players will join the team at different times, especially those in the Turkish league, where the final matchday is on June 1.
This UAE camp will be a key part of Uzbekistan’s preparation for upcoming major competitions. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
