Barcelona’s Champions League dreams shattered – What upset Flick?
In a dramatic return leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-final, Milan's "Inter" narrowly defeated Catalan club "Barcelona" on their home ground, securing their spot in the tournament's final. Just as in their first encounter, regular time turned out to be spectacular and goal-filled, again ending in a 3:3 draw.

Extra time was needed to determine the winner. It was during this period that Inter’s talented player Davide Frattesi scored the decisive goal, shattering Barcelona’s hopes of reaching the final. The Italian side clinched victory with an aggregate score of 4:3, advancing to the next stage of the competition.

After the match, Barcelona’s head coach, Hans-Dieter Flick, shared his thoughts regarding the defeat.

"Today I'm genuinely upset, but not with the performance of my players; on the contrary, I'm proud of their efforts. The guys gave everything they had on the pitch and fought until the end. Nevertheless, since fate has decided this way, we must accept our early exit from the tournament. We will definitely return next year," Flick stated in the post-match press conference.

The German specialist also spoke positively about the opposing team:

"Of course, Inter’s victory was not accidental. They play very disciplined football, especially in defense, where they showed incredible reliability and stability. In attack, they constantly created dangerous moments thanks to their excellent forwards. Ball control, passing, and finishing – all these elements have been perfected by them. Today, luck was on their side more than ours."

At the same time, Barcelona's loss in the semi-finals was a disappointment for their fans. The absence of key players such as Robert Lewandowski, Jules Kounde, and Alejandro Balde was especially felt, as their injuries significantly weakened the team. Nevertheless, Hans-Dieter Flick highly praised the fighting spirit of his players and did not use injuries as an excuse for defeat.

For Barcelona, who dreamed of winning the Champions League this season, the journey ended in the semi-finals. However, Catalan fans have not lost hope and expect their team to return next season even stronger and more ambitious.

Inter, meanwhile, earned the right to participate in the grand final, where they can once again compete for European football’s ultimate prize. The team’s championship chances become increasingly realistic, and confidence within the club continues to grow.

The question of who will become Inter’s opponent in the final match remains a topic of discussion and anticipation among fans and experts alike.
