Emmanuel Petit: “PSG used to be arrogant, but Enrique has changed everything”
French football legend and former Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Petit has openly shared his views on Paris Saint-Germain. According to him, with Luis Enrique’s arrival, the club has taken a new direction and is shedding its arrogant image.

“I wasn’t a fan of Luis Enrique. We spent one season together at Barcelona. But now, watching his work and the way PSG plays, I’m truly impressed,” Petit said.

He revealed that in the past, PSG left a bad impression on him. “During the Ibrahimović era, their attitude annoyed me. It felt like they were saying, ‘We’ve got the money, we’ll buy everything.’ I used to turn off the TV because of it,” he admitted.

Petit stressed that football is, above all, a team sport. “Everyone must know their role and respect the rules. When ego starts to dominate, everything falls apart,” he added.

He praised Enrique’s influence at PSG. “He’s not just a tactician. He has created a strong team spirit, and he comes across as approachable. He smiles, tries to speak French. I feel like he’s transforming not only the style of play but the entire club image. That deserves praise,” Petit concluded.
