One of the legends of English football, Alan Shearer, has made a scathing assessment of the state of Manchester United after their 1-0 defeat to Tottenham in the Europa League final. According to him, the team's head coach Ruben Amorim did not understand the seriousness of the situation at Old Trafford in time.
"I have said before: I do not think Amorim will stay at Manchester United for long. I would not be surprised if he leaves the team before the start of next season. Whether it is a decision of the club or his personal decision - it does not matter," said Shearer.
According to Shearer, the coach did not have the expected impact on the team, but on the contrary, he made the situation worse: "If Manchester United had won the final, perhaps the problems would have been temporarily masked. But yesterday's 97 minutes of the game revealed their true state. There was no creativity, no energy on the pitch, no clear plan."
He stressed that the team is currently at the bottom. Manchester United have no threat in attack, no strength, and no mental preparation. Shearer considers this disgrace to be the responsibility of the current head coach.
