Starting from today, the Uzbekistan national football team has begun its next training camp ahead of the decisive matches in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. It is worth noting that the “White Wolves” will face a crucial away match against the UAE on June 5.
The captain of the national team and leading striker, Eldor Shomurodov, shared his thoughts ahead of this game. According to him, the team’s mood is excellent, and the preparation is going smoothly both mentally and physically.
— Right now, the mood in the team is great. We don’t feel any pressure. We started the training camp today, and God willing, we will travel to Dubai in the coming days and conduct the main preparation there.
There’s no need to worry. We know exactly what is expected from us. We are aware of the opponent and the conditions that await us. I don’t think any extra motivation is needed before such a match, — said Shomurodov.

Eldor also touched on his personal condition and confirmed that he feels fully fit physically:
— Thank God, I feel good. I’m 100 percent ready for battle. We still have one week ahead of us, and during that time we will carry out preparation at the highest level. Adapting to the hot weather won’t be easy, but that can’t be an excuse for us.
The dream of qualifying for the World Cup belongs not just to me, but to the entire team. It’s a dream shared by not only the players but by all the people of Uzbekistan. We know very well that this time we cannot afford to make a mistake. In this game, not only skill but also determination and loyalty will be crucial.

Let us remind you that the UAE – Uzbekistan match in the 9th round will take place on June 5 and will start at 21:00 Tashkent time. A victory in this match could allow our team to secure World Cup qualification in advance.
On May 26, Timur Kapadze announced the list of players invited to the training camp. The team is now preparing in full squad according to the set plan. The upcoming days will be a crucial test in the history of Uzbek football. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
