As the decisive stages of the Club World Cup approach, PSG head coach Luis Enrique shared his thoughts with journalists ahead of the Round of 16 match against Inter Miami. According to him, in such games, every minute and every movement can decide the outcome.
– In football, just 10 seconds of carelessness is enough — the opponent can respond. We are not underestimating Inter Miami in any way. They showed their potential in all three group matches. Especially Messi, Busquets, and Alba — their experience and mutual understanding are visible in every moment on the field, – said the coach.
Luis Enrique emphasized that tactical pressure and ball control are crucial elements that determine the result of the match.
– If we cannot win back possession quickly, they will put us in a difficult situation. Busquets' passes, Messi’s positioning, and Alba’s runs down the wing pose a threat every minute. They can only be stopped with high pressing and disciplined play, – he added.
Enrique also spoke positively about Inter Miami's coach Javier Mascherano:
– Though he is a young coach, he manages the team very wisely. If we don’t maintain our level, they might cause us trouble, – the PSG coach said.
