
The English club Manchester City's press service has issued a response to the tragic news of the death of Portugal national team and Liverpool striker Diogo Jota, Euro-football.ru reported.
It was confirmed that the 28-year-old footballer died in a car accident. According to the club, the entire team is deeply saddened by the news of Jota’s passing.
They expressed sincere condolences to his family and friends, as well as to the Liverpool staff. “Diogo, rest in peace,” the official statement reads.
Diogo Jota had been playing for the Merseyside club since 2020. In the past season, the Portuguese striker appeared in 26 Premier League matches, scoring 6 goals and providing 3 assists.
