Officially, Changchun staff placed archaic magical objects in the opposing team’s dressing room along with a yellow paper note reading “Victory over Shanxi Chunde Ronghai,” intended as a curse. Visiting players noticed this before the game, and their management promptly reported it to the league.
The league treated the misconduct seriously and imposed a formal warning and financial penalty on Changchun Yatai. The official statement stressed that superstition and psychological pressure are unacceptable in sport — each team must compete solely by genuine skill and mental resilience.
