Messi shines again: MLS Player of the Matchday

Argentinian Lionel Messi has once again been named the best player of the matchday in MLS. He received this title due to his high performance in matchdays 23 and 24 of the North American league.

On July 10, Messi, playing for Inter Miami, scored two goals against New England Revolution, helping his team win 2–1. Shortly after, on July 13, he scored another brace against Nashville, again leading the team to a 2–1 victory.

With this, Lionel Messi has now been named MLS Player of the Matchday four times this season. His total number of such awards with Inter Miami has reached 10.

Notably, only five players in MLS history have ever won this award 10 or more times. Messi has now firmly secured his place in that elite list.

Since 2023, Lionel Messi has been playing in MLS, remaining the focus not only of Inter Miami fans but of the entire American football community.
