A very unusual, even complicated situation has arisen in the famous Catalan football club Barcelona. The team’s main goalkeeper and fan favorite, German footballer Marc-André ter Stegen, is on the verge of losing his status in the team. The player himself made an official statement about this.
It should be recalled that recently, Barcelona officially announced that ter Stegen had been stripped of the captain’s armband. The reason behind this was said to be that the goalkeeper did not sign an important medical document about his injury. This document was necessary to officially declare the injury as long-term and thereby make it easier to register new players in La Liga.
However, the player himself decided to explain how the events actually unfolded. He said:

At the same time, Marc-André emphasized that all recent transfers and contract renewals in the club took place before the surgery.
— “Therefore, I never thought that my necessary surgery would hinder the registration of other players with whom I hope to share the locker room for many seasons. Any other interpretation seems unfair and inaccurate to me,” he wrote in his statement.
The goalkeeper stressed that he maintains professional conduct, has not lost respect for the club, and is ready to resolve any situation through dialogue.
— “I consider it an honor to defend the name of Barcelona and am always ready to act in the same direction with the club. Even in such situations, a solution can be found through reason and thoughtfulness,” ter Stegen concluded.
