According to him, the club’s leaders decided not to continue working with the specialist after an interview he gave to “Sky Sports” a week ago.
In that conversation, Nuno openly assessed the team’s condition and expressed a number of critical opinions. According to him, in terms of squad, the club was behind leading rivals, the planned directions in the transfer window were not implemented, and the team’s preparation was not at the expected level. “We didn’t even know exactly with which players we would start the season. Some knew they would leave on loan but stayed in the squad. This caused big problems,” Santo said with his characteristic frankness.
These statements, it is said, greatly worried the management. The club owners believe that such remarks by the coach could undermine trust and unity within the team. Therefore, a decision was made to part ways with him.
