Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola gave fans a direct update regarding the return of central midfielder Rodri Hernandez. The Spanish specialist emphasized that he plans to use the player with caution.
“All I want from Rodri is to be stable and in full condition. At the moment he has not yet returned to full form. However, I have no doubts about his skill or abilities. Rodri is still considered the best footballer in the world. The new Ballon d’Or winner will be announced in a few months, but for now the best player can be called Rodri,” Guardiola said in his statement.
It should be recalled that after suffering a serious leg injury, Rodri appeared with the team in the Club World Cup. However, in the match against Al Hilal he was injured again and forced to withdraw. For this reason, the Spanish midfielder will not be able to help his team until mid-September.
At the same time, Rodri’s importance for City is invaluable. His role on the pitch is the bridge between defense and attack, the main supporting figure of the team. Therefore, Guardiola does not intend to rush, but will wait for his full recovery before bringing him back.
