After the 20th round Super League match between Nasaf and Surkhon (2:1), the head coach of the Termez club, Fevzi Davletov, attended the press conference and shared his thoughts about the game. According to him, at times the team lacked self-belief, and the mistakes made on the field ultimately proved too costly.
“In the first half, we defended quite well”
— We knew very well that Nasaf is the leader of the championship and that a tough match awaited us. In the first half, we played relatively well in defense, but we made too many mistakes. Perhaps it was due to the opponent’s pressure, perhaps because of the players’ excessive nervousness. There was a noticeable lack of confidence in our actions.
“In the second half, mistakes were punished”
— In the second half, within 4 minutes, we made two mistakes in a simple situation, and Nasaf, of course, does not forgive such errors. After those goals, we started playing more offensively. But the question arises: why couldn’t we do that in the first half? We will definitely analyze this.
“We must believe in our own strength”
— I am glad to hear that Surkhon’s performance in Kokand and today pleased the fans. Becoming a team loved by the people is a big responsibility for us. But in this particular match, we should not have played so insecurely. We will carefully study our mistakes and prepare seriously for the upcoming games, — said the coach.
According to Fevzi Davletov, Surkhon aims to take the field in the next matches with more strength and confidence. The coach also expressed his gratitude to the fans for their support.
