In the quarterfinal of the Uzbekistan Cup, Samarkand’s “Dynamo” defeated “Shurtan” 3:0 at home and secured a ticket to the semifinal. After the match, Dynamo’s head coach Vadim Abramov answered journalists’ questions at the press conference.
First of all, he congratulated the people of Samarkand and the fans on reaching the semifinal and emphasized that the team is becoming stronger from game to game. “We have strong potential, but in some moments we play incorrectly. August passed with a very heavy schedule, but we did not break. There was no underestimation of the opponent, and our players took today’s game seriously. That made me very happy,” said the coach.
One of the journalists asked if this victory was the easiest match of the season for Abramov. He replied: “We prepared seriously for the Cup match. We studied Shurtan’s games, in particular their match against Nasaf. Today our set pieces worked well.”
The coach also commented on Anvar Khojimirkhaev’s absence after the match: “He immediately went into the locker room and started the recovery process. Even though he did not score, he played well, created dangerous chances, and helped his teammates. I have no complaints about him.”
The issue of injuries was also raised at the press conference. “Ratinyo, Mirakhmadov, and Khoshimov are injured. Therefore, they were not included in today’s squad,” said the specialist.
Regarding Marko Stanojevic, Abramov noted: “Stanojevic is European, and for him the local heat is difficult. But he is a first-team player and will still bring great benefit.”
On the question about Urozov, Abramov answered: “This question should be asked to Kapadze. I can only say that all Dynamo players deserve to play in the national team. Timur has his own views and calls up those he considers appropriate.”
At the end of the press conference, Abramov spoke about the semifinal: “We want to meet the team that we can beat. We continue to write history and approach every match seriously.”
Thus, Dynamo not only delighted their fans but also strengthened their ambition for success in the Cup. The Samarkand team now intends to show a worthy performance in the semifinal as well.
