Young Uzbek judokas triumph at the World Championships in Sofia

In the capital of Bulgaria, the city of Sofia, the World Judo Championship among teenagers came to an end, and our young judokas achieved a historic victory there. During the competition, our athletes, demonstrating high skill and courage, won not only medals but also secured first place in the overall team standings.

The final day of the World Championship was also successful for the Uzbekistan national team. In particular, in the +70 kg weight category among girls, Umida Nigmatova defeated all her opponents and won the gold medal. Her victory added another important point to our team’s tally and strengthened the overall results.

Thus, our young judokas won a total of 5 gold and 2 bronze medals. This result made them the absolute leaders in the overall team standings. The high performance at the competition once again demonstrated the level of preparation, perseverance, and willpower of our young judokas.
