In one of Germany’s most famous clubs, Bayer Leverkusen, major changes have taken place. On the first day of September, the team ended its cooperation with head coach Erik ten Hag. The Dutch specialist set an anti-record by leaving the club after only two rounds of the Bundesliga.
The club’s management urgently began the process of searching for a new head coach. According to reports from Sky Germany, among the candidates is Spaniard Xavi. The 45-year-old specialist is currently unemployed and can freely negotiate with the club.
It should be recalled that Xavi parted ways with his team Barcelona at the end of the 2023/2024 season. Because of his great experience and achievements with the Blaugrana, many clubs are showing interest in his services.
For Bayer, the first two matches of the season started unsuccessfully. First, they lost at home to Hoffenheim with a score of 1:2. Then away they recorded a 3:3 draw with Bremen’s Werder.
