Two legendary figures of the boxing world — Mike Tyson and Floyd Mayweather — are expected to hold an exhibition fight in the spring of 2026. This was reported by TMZ.
The main difference of an exhibition fight is that its results are not officially recorded, meaning they do not affect the boxers’ win or loss statistics. The exact date and location of the fight have not yet been revealed, but the parties have signed a contract.
Mike Tyson commented on this matter:
“Neither I nor the world could imagine that this fight would become a reality. But boxing has entered a new and unexpected era. Honestly, I still can’t believe Floyd agreed. This could negatively affect his health.”
Floyd Mayweather, in response, said:
“I have been in the ring for 30 years, and there has never been a fighter who could put my legacy in doubt. If I fight, it must be epic and legendary. I am the greatest in the history of boxing.”
Floyd Mayweather is a five-weight world champion and a bronze medalist at the 1996 Olympics. Throughout his entire career, he has never lost a fight. In 2017, he defeated Conor McGregor.
Mike Tyson, on the other hand, has 50 victories and 6 defeats. In his last professional fight in 2005, he lost to Kevin McBride. In 2024, after a 19-year break, Tyson returned to the ring and lost to blogger Jake Paul.
