As you know, the World Boxing Championship among adults is being held for the first time in Liverpool, England, as part of the World Boxing initiative. Within the framework of this prestigious competition, our compatriot Javokhir Ummataliyev once again demonstrated his potential.
In the -80 kg weight category, Ummataliyev faced Polish boxer Nikodim Kozak. During the match, our compatriot showed excellent preparation and not only easily defeated his opponent, but also sent him to a knockdown. The judges unanimously awarded the victory to Javokhir - 5:0.
Ummataliyev's victory gave him a chance to qualify for the quarterfinals. Now, on September 9, our boxer will enter the ring in the next important match and continue his journey in the competition.
It should also be noted that on the same day, another representative of Uzbekistan, Khumorabonu Mamajonova, will compete against Montenegrin athlete Boyana Goykovich. This clash is expected to be another exciting test for our team.
