Shomurodov and Fayzullayev left without coach

The head coach of Istanbul’s “Basaksehir,” Çağdaş Atan, has resigned, Kursiv Media reported. According to the club, the contract was terminated by mutual agreement.

The official statement highlighted Atan’s dedication and professionalism over the past two seasons. Under his guidance, the team won the European Champions Cup twice in a row. The club expressed gratitude and wished him success in his career.

Atan recorded 47 wins, 22 draws, and 29 defeats. This season, the team failed to qualify for the Europa League and drew its first two matches in the Turkish Super League. Turkish media report that Nuri Şahin is being considered as a replacement.

In July, Uzbek striker Eldor Shomurodov joined Basaksehir from AS Roma. Later that month, midfielder Abbosbek Fayzullayev transferred from CSKA Moscow to the Istanbul side.
